Teamwork, prayer, sharing your
faith, cross cultural evangelism… these are just some
of the things you could be learning about next summer, without
cutting into holidays for very long and at a very low cost!
Every summer, thousands of young people from all over the
world come to the UK to learn English. But many of them slip
away again without ever having met Christians. Could this
be where you fit in?
As part of a summer missions team,
you could be offering international students friendship, opportunities
for English language practice and the chance to talk about
the living God … having first had some careful cross-cultural
training yourself. Summer teams take place in Bournemouth,
Cambridge, Oxford, Edinburgh and Canterbury every year. Outreach
takes place primarily through evening international cafes,
where there is the opportunity for one-to-one conversations,
Bible studies and even some drama! All of the teams are organised
locally, so they form part of an ongoing work among international
students in the area. These teams are a combined effort, with
which Friends International is closely identified alongside
UCCF, IFES and local ministries to international students.
You will almost certainly receive more than you give…
though it will be hard work too! Interested? Download the
leaflet, or email
