Clayton TV wins award at the 2009 Christian Web and New Media Awards

23 September 2009

Jesmond Parish Church in Newcastle, where Friends International associate staff member Ramzi Adcock is based, has won ‘Best use of New Media for a Christian project’ at the annual Christian Web and New Media Awards.

Clayton TV is an internet TV channel that aims to distribute good quality Christian programming. Not only are the church’s evening services broadcast on Clayton TV, but there is also a variety of other programmes from other sites, churches and organisations. These include sermons and talks, Bible studies, music videos, discussions on various ‘hot’ topics, and some very engaging 5 minute programmes on ‘bite-size Christian thinking.’

Clayton TV can be a great source of encouragement for Christian international students returning home to isolated situations. One student in particular recently returned home to Pakistan from Newcastle, and is finding it a real resource.

Please visit www.clayton.tv to browse the many programmes available, as well as www.friendsinternational.org.uk/newcastle to find out more about international student work in Newcastle.
